If you're wondering about my quietness over the past weeks/months perhaps a few photos will tell the tale...This has been a long, relentless, white winter in the Midwest. So far we've had more than 80" - yes 8-0 inches - of snow - the fourth greatest snow level since recordings began - and it hasn't finished yet...And you wonder why you haven't heard from me....
We're still digging ourselves out...!
Here are a few of those inches...
The windsurfing rental spot on Lake Michigan - 5 minutes from home, and no patrons at this time of year. That's a frozen lake front in the background by the way...
The back of our house during the worst dump ...this was just the start of it.
We love our Miles, but having him in our lives means walking twice a day - come sun (yeah right!), rain or snow...and when it's bad, out come the googles! At least one of us is in his element!

One night's dump!
The city does an amazing job of keeping on top of the snow plowing and clearing. Cars aren't supposed to park on certain roadways during a snow emergency (more than 4 inches) and if they do they get towed so the trucks can clear by the forklift-load when it gets really bad.
My handsome boys!
Bikes get abandoned - this is a common sight!Relief is in sight. Daylight saving started at the weekend and we had a balmy 35F today - that's 1C for those metricfiles among you. And there's even talk of it rising to 50 during the week - it might hit 10C. Sacre bleu!
This is when the freakiness starts happening around here. Like this afternoon. Miles and I were out walking after work (a joy to be doing that in daylight for a change) and two guys ran past us at the lakefront - in shorts! You wait...this weekend the loonies will be all hanging around on the footpaths outside the local bars drinking beer, in their jandals, and baring their lily white skin to the barely-above-freezing temperatures. The muffin tops and bum cracks will be back in sight (beer takes precedence over the gym in this state!) - and it just gets scary!
Speaking of crazy - how's this!

Speaking of crazy - how's this! It's not all bad...mostly the days (when it's not snowing!) are crisp, clear and sunny and we get out in all conditions - and try to have some fun. And the elections help!
Miles loves the snow, the deeper the better, and we have a huge amount of fun at the local tennis courts - they're fenced so we can let him loose to chase a tennis ball, and run laps around the nets like a crazy dog - not dissimilar to the following - The Snow Angel and the Malamute!..

Fascinating comment, could have easily been taken from the pages of the "Kilkenny News"!!...and that's scary!
Have a great weekend, hope you get a chance to drown the shamrock or the Easter Bunny?
